WOMEN'S MOTOCROSS WELCOMED AT X GAMES
Now this is cool. Women’s Motocross
made their debut at the X Games for the first time!
The X Games is an annual event that
focuses on extreme action sports. For over 30 years, woman
have stood on the sidelines and watched in amazement as
“greats” have zoomed across the stage of the X Games,
including names such as Travis Pastrana and Cary Hart.
Now we can focus upon names like
Jessica Patterson, Ashley Fiolek, Tarah Geiger
who are now able compete in this summer’s X
games.
Heather
Williams is actually competing in Free Style MX, and is
showing the guys a thing or two.
OP GIRL'S LEARN TO RIDE MOTOCROSS PROGRAM
This will be the 8th season
of the Girls Learn to Ride Motocross program. The series of events are held
in conjunction with Girls Learn to Ride (tm) at the Honda Rider Education
Centers. Honda donates their facility, provides XR 100's, and
certified instructors for the course. The course is about 3-4 hours
long and teaches the basics of dirt bike control and safety. If you have always wanted to try riding, this a great –
low pressure - opportunity to check it out. It isn't very often you can
just borrow a bike. Plus they give away goody bags and bring in WML Pro
riders for autographs (depending on the schedule). To sign up go to
www.girlslearntoride.com, while there check out the girls skateboarding,
snowboarding and wakeboarding events too.
